Why won't my new computer recognize that my iPhone is plugged in?

I recently got a new computer, but all of my information for my iPhone is on my old computer. When I plug up my iPhone to my computer, it doesn't register that it is plugged in. Nothing is wrong with my charger and nothing is wrong with my computer. I don't know what to do to get my information from my iPhone onto my new computer and to my iTunes.

  • Will my iphone loose all it's music if plugged into a new computer? My brother gave me his iphone, but i'm afraid to plug it into my computer because i did this with an ipod and all the stuff got erased. I really don't want to loose all his music. Is there a way to get around that?
  • Why won't my new iphone 5 download my music when plugged into my laptop? My old iphone 4 downloaded just fine. Normally I take the music I didn't buy from itunes and just "select all then drag and drop into my iphone folder thing on iTunes" and it would be added and it was easy for me to do this, is this now not working because I have IOS 7? Everytime I try to drag my music into the iphone place like I used to it just won't let me. What do I do?
  • Why won't my computer recognize my UBS's? I'm trying to connect my iPhone 5 with a USB cable cord and my PC simply won't recognize it… after a while of connecting and disconnecting it it won't even show up no error message anymore
  • Why won't my computer recognize the music on my iPhone? I can play the music on my iPhone, and I want to update my phone but not lose my music. Some of it was not purchased on iTunes, but I have used programs that transfer music to computer without the help of iTunes, and they don't recognize my music either! ITunes won't even recognize the music i have purchased from the iTunes store. I want to restore my iphone and thats why i need to get my music onto my computer. It is an iphone 4s running on 5.0.1.
