Why won't my Nike + shoes calibrate to my iPhone 4s?

Do I need a receiver or something? It told me to walk around to activate the sensor but i walked around for a good 15 minutes and it didn't calibrate… Am i doing something wrong or is there another gadget i need?

Yes you do need a gadget thing! It is a thing that fits into your shoe and another part that clips into the bottom of your IPhone where the charger fits. You can get them at most sporting goods stores and online.

You do have the sensor - that goes into the shoe?
you don't need the receiver.
When you are walking around… See that big green button.press it. It will say "workout started".
Calibration occurs after the workout

You have to have a Nike sensor which fits into a hole in your shoe, mines in the left shoe! That then links up to your ipod. They're not too expensive, mine cost about £15.

Enjoy running.

The shoes should really be called Nike+ compatible shoes. All the + means is that the shoe has a small hole under your heal (lift up the inside of the shoe and you will see).In the hole you put a Nike+ sensor and as you walk the sensor does its thing (badly in my opinion).

The sensor is an optional extra above the premium you paid doe the shoes with the + sign and less material in them (the hole).

Once you have the sensor it depends on the device you want to read the data it sends out. Iphone 4 I believe can read the sensor without any extra kit, earlier iphones had a plug in thing (another thing you had to buy).

Then once you have that you connect them all up as per the instructions and hope the rain won't damage your £300 or £400 telephone,

EDIT.
Forgot to add.
If you are insisiting on taking your overpriced telephone out for a run (in the rain) then you can skip the whole nike+ thing (no harm in doing this) and you can download a programme to the telephone that will use its inbuilt GPS functionality to do the same thing. Even my Sony phone does this - and that has real buttons and nothing smart about that.

The shoes don't come with a sensor. If you just bought the shoes, you still need to buy the sensor separately.

  • Nike+ Running App on the iPhone 4 (problem)? I have a Nike account and I signed in all right. I got to the screen that says "Run Setup" and I set it up as a Basic run with no music and no 'cheers'. But when I tap Begin Run nothing happens. The screen just stays as it was before and no matter how many times I press the button nothing will happen. For any clarification, I'm using an iPhone 4.
  • Nike iD women's customisable shoes, size mix up when add to cart? Hi so I just designed my Nike shoes, Nike dunk high iD, and I put in my size (uk) and then added to cart and it changed to 3 sizes down? Is it changed from American or European sizes to British or vise versa? Do I trust what it says in the cart or do I trust what size I picked? Is there some way of working this out? I've tried on an iPhone and Samsung tablet but iPhone goes up in size tablet goes down, I don't get it, what do I do? Had anyone else had this?
  • Nike+ carrying iPhone with you? I just bought the Nike Free Run running trainers and bought the Nike+ sensor with them. I've got the Nike + iPod app, but do I have to run with my iPhone for my progress and stats to be counted or can I just connect my sensor, start the time on the workout on my iPhone and then leave my iPhone at home?
  • Nike and iPhone shoes/sensor? I heard about getting a certain pair of Nike shoes and you can sync them with your iPhone or something. Well I want to look into this, I have an iPhone 4S if that matters. But ABOUT how much do these shoes cost? Does the sensor thing come with it or bought separately? If so, how much is the sensor? Where can I buy these shoes and/or sensor?
