Why won't Sony Vegas 8 allow me to add iPhone videos in?

Says it all in the title!

I use my iPhone 4 camera to record stuff. And when I want to edit it, I try to import it to sony vegas 8… But it says something like it can't recognize the file o.o? Why. Is it because the file size is too big? I really CBA compressing each and every video it takes ages! I need to edit immediately.

Are there any good softwares I can buy/download to allow editing HD vidz?

Added (1). Everytime I upload videos on youtube it says it's HD, and the camera is amazing if you have good lighting however its rubbish in the dark lol. But thank you for your answer!

The file size is fine, Vegas will allow pretty much any size, it's the file format that'd the problem, you'll need to google some updates for Vegas specifically for the iPhones file formats, this should fix your issue.

P.s. It's not hd video, the iPhone isn't that good!

Well to answer the answer below.iPhone's do HD video. Before he tries to be a smarty pants. I think it will be the file format. Download Quicktime if you don't already have it because it installs the drivers for Sony Vegas. If not go on Vegas and Help, Sony on The Web, then latest Sony Updates. Update your Vegas 8.
Could also be because that was from 5 years ago and there are 4 new different and more advanced ones that are better too.

  • Why won't Sony Vegas Pro 8 work? Ok. I synced the videos off of my iPhone 4 onto my computer which is a SamSung Windows 7. I don't have a camera like most people like the HD cameras. I'm saving up though. But when I add the clip on Sony Vegas Pro 8 it's black why is that and can it be fixed?

I recorded multiple clips from my iPhone 4s and imported them, edited them and completed my movie although when I render the video into any format it only plays my title and maybe the first clip (only in quicktime) and then the rest of the film is in black with only audio playing in the background.
