Wi-Fi adapter for a desktop computer?

I have a dell computer that use to run windows vista but now runs do. It never had the ability to receive a wireless signal and always needed an Ethernet cable, is there any way to maybe use my old android phone, my current iphone, or my laptop to use as a Wi-Fi adapter? If not that's okay bit if there's a way to use one if those devices it would be great!

Ok well it depends on your android phone if it has tethering if it dose then it could work well to find if it has tethering is go to settings and then go to wireless & networks and then look for if it has tethering after you find it plug in the android phone to the USB port in the desktop then go back you your phone and activate the tethering and then go back to your computer and see if it has connected if not it will show a open network connection then connect the computer to it and you will have internet connection but you will have to connect the phone to a wireless network that you can get not sure if it will pull off your data plan but you will get internet and from experience your phone will get really hot so i would suggest only 1-2 1/2 hours of use then turn off the phone to let it cool off… I hope this can help

Laptop has built-in wireless network card, so you can use it as a virtual Wi-Fi router with some software, like My Wi-Fi Router. It would turn your laptop into a hotspot just with a click. It's free and very easy to use.
