Wi-Fi names to disguise internet connection?
So I have set up a battery backup system that is capable of running my wireless gateway/modem for an extended period of time should there ever be a loss of power. However, I do not want neighbors becoming suspicious of why there's a Wi-Fi network visible during a power outage. What are some SSIDs that I can set my backup network to that will make them think that it's just a local network or something? I was thinking of going with "Alcatel OneTouch Hotspot" or "Chris's iPhone" which sounds less likely to be a reliable connection for people to bug me about.
You could always use an SSID name that you know, then turn off the broadcast for that SSID. Then no one would see it.
No power, your Inter may not last too long at the ISP's end either… Your neighbors will have no power (except laptop battery) to even see any Wi-Fi.
Use a name like "Power Grid" or something that suggests it is related to the power system. Then, put in a good strong WPA2 password and then hide the SSID via the router settings so people will not see it. You can still connect to it, by entering the SSID name manually in any connection box (or it will save the SSID for connections that already exist).
Nobody is going to use it if you have a good WPA2 password anyway…
- Why is my Iphone 4 not showing the contact names on my in-coming texts? I'm having this issue with my Iphone 4 after updating. Suddenly my text messages are not displaying the contact name, but rather just the phone number of the person sending the text. It always displayed the senders name prior to updating, and now I can;t get it to return doing so. I've tried rebooting my phone and tried to look up some info on the net, but nothing seems to work to get it back. Has anyone experienced anything similar and if so, how did you fix the issue.
- Why do the names of my artists change when i sync with my iphone? Every time i sync my iphone with my itunes library it will change the artists names to something different, for example all of my Tupac songs are clearly named Tupac in my library, but when i sync they will be renamed to 2pac, Tupac etc. The part i don't understand is that for my ipod they show up like i have them saved on the computer. If anyone knows why this is and how to stop it please tell me
- Why are their names & numbers still showing on my iphone? I deleted down people. However they do not appear on the address book but when I create a new message and type the first initial of the person I'm texting, the people I have deleted will come up but there will be an "other" there!
- Which app on the computer or Iphone does have a disguise thing in it? I'm looking for an app to disguise myself as a different person. If they are no app just tell me what I need to be disguised as a different person
