Wi-Fi not connecting to MacBook Pro but is connected to iPhone 4S?
My MacBook Pro 10.8.5 I just got it last year isn't connecting to the Wi-Fi. My phone is connected though. I'm a college student so I'm connected to the schools Wi-Fi and no one else that I've spoken to has this problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
Restarting the computer might help if you haven't done it.
If it's the school Wi-Fi then run the problem past the school's IT administrator.
Did it connect before and stopped connecting, or is this the first time you've tried to connect it to this particular Wi-Fi?
Some ISPs have an ID matching sign in requirement. If the device isn't logged in as a recognized member, it can't connect. Talk to your school IT people about it.
This also happens with many cable ISP servers. Each computer has to be logged into their system even if it is a replacement with everything else the same for a different computer. An example is if you buy a new computer and migrate everything from the old one, the ISP will still not recognize the new computer until you have it connected while the IT people log it into their network.
