Wi-Fi on iphone stops when macbook sleeps?
So my dorm in University doesn't have Wi-Fi, just an ethernet cable. Not a problem for my Macbook, we just plug it in. But I don't have Data on my iPhone. So my dad and I set up my Macbook as a Wi-Fi hotspot when plugged in so my Iphone will have Wi-Fi to connect to and I can get internet on it. It works great when my laptop is awake, but if my macbook is asleep, the Wi-Fi connection disappears from my iPhone (even if i'm in the process of checking Facebook or something on it).
Any ideas how I can keep the connection going from my macbook to my iphone even when my macbook is asleep?
When it is asleep it is not working. If it is not working it is not connecting with the Ethernet cable nor sharing the connection.
- What do you do if your lock button on the iPhone for stops working? My iPhone 4 lock button stopped working and i don't want to take it to the store. Some people i know said theirs did this and after a while it started to work again. I need help.

I have a strong Wi-Fi connection and I also have unlimited data. My internet works when I go online with my phone, but the iMessage still won't work.
