Wi-Fi slow on Windows, fast on Apple devices?

Hi. For a while now my Wi-Fi Internet has been really slow on my PC (Win Vista) and laptop (Win XP), even if I connect them to the Internet by a LAN cable. I know it's old OSs but it was perfectly fine up until a couple of months ago. Speedtest.net won't even open now. On my Apple devices, however, iPhone 5 and iPad mini it works great. I can watch movies and do anything I want. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Sounds like you could have some kind of a "virus" on the PCs that is sapping part of your bandwidth to do nasty things whenever you are on the Internet. Give both the PCs a full virus scan with at least two different scanners. No scanner is perfect, so using two different ones will often caught things that only using one scanner would miss.

Also, since the PCs are older devices, it is possible that they have "G" level network cards in them, while the newer devices have faster "N" cards in them? When you mix "G" and "N" devices on the same network it can cause devices to run slower.

Reset dns server to Google Public. Just search on googlehttps://www.google.co.in…

I got a nice way to Increase Internet Speed in WINDOWS just check here,

Odd that its on both your Windows devices with different OS's and not the apple ones, especially when connected directly to a LAN, that throws the Wi-Fi issue out the window.
Have you changed internet providers in that 2 month time period?
Checked to see if there's a driver update for your network adapters?

I assume you have already checked for add-ware, spyware, malware, viruses etc. With a good antivirus program and also something like Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner and come up clean?

Have run a junk cleaner like CCleaner to clean up your files, internet cash, cookies, offline data storage etc?

Have opened Task Manager to see if and how much bandwidth is is being used by background apps and programs when you don't have your browser open?

Turned off your auto updates on programs and ones that auto log in when a connection is available, to see if that helps?

I'm not a real tech guy but if you can't find your answer on here might try posting on Windows Help Forums sounds like something they would find interesting

This never used to be an issue up until a few weeks ago, we had a 60MB connection that was buffed up to 100, my laptop used to download at around 5.5 - 6MB per second, whereas now its between 2 and 2.5, yet my iphone and all other computers in the house still get the full speed. I have checked the drivers which are all up to date, I can't discover the problem, what could be causing this? And how can I go about solving it?
