Will an iPhone work without a phone plan?
Hi! So I really want an iPhone and my parents are considering getting me one, but they don't want to pay for a phone bill yet. But if I get one without a plan, but download texting apps such as Kik (especially this one!), Pinger, etc that run off Wi-Fi, will it work? Or will I not be able to get any apps or use the internet?
Of course, you can use it just like an ipod touch but obviously you won't be able to make phone calls without a carrier plan. Imessage will still work even over Wi-Fi.
No. You can only set up a new iphone to use if you have a sim card and to have a sim card you have to have a plan. You can't even get to the home screen to be able to set up Wi-Fi without setting up service first. Get a job and pay your own bill and then you can use as much data as you want besides if you're going to be paying the bill I'm sure your parents are going to be much more willing to get you the iphone
- Would the iPhone 4 work without a data plan? I have a phone from Verizon, it has a simcard in it, a Verizon Vodafone sim card, now if I inserted that, turned off Cell Phone data on the iPhone and called *611 to activate it, would it work? Would I be able to call and text off of my regular plan using the iPhone and just use Wi-Fi with my own wireless connection at my house?
- Will the iPhone 4S work with my phone plan? I have unlimited talk and txt and then I share 300 mb between me and my mom and that's it would the iPhone 4S work with that phone plan?
- Will I be able to unlock my iPhone with a home phone plan instead of a wireless plan? I don't have a wireless plan with AT&T but I have a home phone plan does that count towards unlocking requirements? And also can I use a mildly cracked screen as a replacement screen on my iPhone?
- Will an unlocked iPhone originally from Sprint work on an AT&T go phone plan? I found one on eBay, and I'm gonna join the $25 AT&T go phone plan. It's an unlocked iPhone 5c, and it says its originally from sprint, but will work on any gsm network, which AT&T is. But will it work? Or would I be wasting $300?
