Will Apple or AT&T be able to track my stolen iPhone 5 if I never activated it?
Had iPhone shipped to my house and when I opened the box it was empty. Could have been FedEx or a neighbor due to it sitting outside my door for awhile.
If you report the phone stolen, it will not be able to be activated, but they won't/can't track it.
Was the box still sealed? If you report the parcel as stolen then you will not incur any fees, and the serial number SHOULD be blocked. This is why you should be there to sign for the item when it arrives, so such things don't happen.
- Would a bad esn version iPhone be able to be activated with simple mobile? So I want to buy a iPhone 5 and I saw one on eBay for Verizon but it has bad esn like now Verizon has its iPhone 5 unlocked but if it has bad esn would I be able to activate it? The iPhone 5 for Verizon is factory unlocked which allows you to connect to gsm which is what simple mobile is
- Unlock iphone 5s never activated internationally? I'm planning to buy an iphone 5s locked to sprint or AT&T on ebay. And I also wanna use it in my home country. Is that possible to unlock it before activating and then using it with any carrier in US or any other country in the world?
- If I take the sim card out would the owner be able to track the iphone? Okay so I found this iPhone 4/4s and I gave it to the people in the mall they gave it back to me because the owner didn't claim it in 2 months. The phone still has service and it's working correctly. What would happen if the owner started to track the iPhone and traced it back to me. Is there a way for them to trace it back to me? Even tho I took out the sim card?
- If I buy an iPhone from someone's else, can they still report it stolen after I've already activated it? For example: if I buy a phone from a girl on Facebook, then go to T-Mobile and it's clean, not iCloud locked, not stolen, ready to be activated. Then I activate it. Can that person then report it? Even after it's already set up with T-Mobile as active
