Will god forgive me if I break a promise? - 1

Early this morning I tried to jailbreaking my iPhone and it got stuck on the iTunes logo after numerous attempts to restore it it did not work.

So I asked god to help me because I would get it trouble if it broke I sort of promise that I would fast for him today to say thank you and would go to church on Saturday.

But am so hungry I want to eat am not good at fasting. The last time I fasted it was for a full 24h it was so hard I did not even drink water.

So this time will god forgive me if I eat. I can keep the promise of going to church but for the food it's hard.

Do you think I can swap the promise I love going on my laptop can I instead promise to not go on it all day instead of eating and drinking nothing

I'm sure god will forgive you, just tell him it was too hard, he will understand, humans need food. The laptop idea sounds good.

God will forgive you, but how would you feel if God broke his promises to you? For example eternal life?
Pray about it, spend quiet time alone with him and let God guide you on how you should fast.

P.s How about you promise him the go to church every weekend!

Never make a promise that you can't keep.

if you want to fast or do something of this nature, you don't need to turn it into a 'promise'.
you can tell God something like…

Father, i would like to fast and to attend church on the sabbath.
Please help me to achieve this.

you are telling God your plans and asking Him for His help.

So, in that context, the real question is whether We will forgive you for making that vain 'promise' in the first place!

Don't make deal with God you don't intend to keep. He doesn't need you fasting for Him. You can't earn God's favor. You can only receive it, since it comes by grace - undeserved favor, and is received by faith.
What you need to do is accept what God has done through Jesus Christ. This pleases Him more than all our promises and religious works…
