Will I be able to upgrade to iphone?

My carrier is Verizon wireless and right now I have the Samsung intensity. I'll be honest when I say this phone SUCKS. I'm sick of it not being able to do anything, such as no internet access, terrible camera quality, no music, and did I forget to mention… NO INTERNET.

I want to upgrade to the iPhone 4s or iPhone 5 and while my upgrade eligibility is in about a month (7/23/13), my contract doesn't end until Mid- November of this year.

So I have a couple of questions.

1. Will my cellphone be able to even upgrade to an iPhone, or is it limited on certain devices it can be upgraded to?
2. Instead of paying the termination fee which Is like $280 and really expensive, could I just upgrade my phone to a new line, get the iPhone and suspend my current phone?
3.Is it possible as a last resort to buy an iPhone off eBay/amazon or something and activate it's line while suspending my current phone?

Samsung Intensity (My current phone)

Here are the answers.
1: Yes, you can upgrade to any cell phone, you may have to pay for a data plan which is like another $10/month for the iPhone or any phone with internet or 3G access.
2: No, that's just a big mess. If you open a new line you can't just suspend your current phone. You will be stuck paying for the two phones until your Samsung contract is up.
3: You can buy a phone off of eBay or Amazon and switch it out for your current phone with no problem, you may have to add the data plan like I said. With this option you will most likely be spending $500+ on the phone when you can get it for less than $200 on upgrade.

I have been in a situation like this before. I'm sorry to say but you're better off waiting until next month for the upgrade. Doing this will save you money, trust me on this one.

Hope this helps.
