Will I get an early upgrade for the iPhone 5?
I bought a 4s last October and was wondering will I be able to get a iPhone 5 at discounted price cuz I doubt all the people that have a 4s and want a iPhone 5 will be able to to shell out 649$ for a iPhone 5 at retail price, that's $700 with tax.
Probably not outright - usually that kind of deal is for people who bought the phone within the 2 or 3 months before a new handset is released.
That said you might be able to part exchange it with a store - Apple don't do this but others might do. It's worth going in to various shops and asking if they'll part exchange it. Find the best offer before you make a decision though.
Failing that you could always sell it through eBay or a phone recycling service (search for them on Google) and use the cash against your new iPhone.

I have ATT and my iphone 4 from 2010 is broken, and i want to get a one x, but i can't get my upgrade till august 3, but if i get a iphone 4s theyll give it to me early, so could i get that, and then return the iphone 4s and get the htc one x and pay the difference?

- Verizon upgrade date? Any way to upgrade early? So today I went to the Verizon store to get the new iPhone 6. It came to 399, and everything was cool. But then, they realized I couldn't upgrade phones until March of 2016, and that if I still wanted the phone, it would come too around 800 dollars. It will be exactly a year i've had the contract in june this year and my contract does not end until june 2018. I've been having problems with the phone getting over heated and shutting off. I want to uprgrade to a iPhone 7 with financing. Everytime I call they tell me with a attitude to either wait another year or pay a $350 termination fee for each device.
