Will I lose the information stored on my iPhone 6 if I backup through iTunes?

Basically I want to back up my phone, but if I backup my phone will I lose all the information all ready on my phone then have to restore it later? Like will backing up delete apps, pictures, videos, etc. On my device?

You won't loose anything

The purpose of a backup is to SAVE what you have. But if you do not back up often - or automatically - then let's say you lose your phone, get a new phone, etc. - If you are using an OLD backup, then yes, recent things will be gone. There might be times when YES - you want an old backup, because there's something you deleted recently, and it is WORTH IT to you to lose the recent things you added, to ab able to get back the OLD thing you had thrown out. Does that make sense? I back up both our phones automatically every day to the Cloud - and then, periodically, I back them up to my desktop. Before I travel, I also back them up to whatever laptop, etc. I'm taking with me; what if I was somewhere where I could not get decent/fast Wi-Fi(and therefore, not get to the Cloud), and needed to RESTORE by phone from a backup? I would HAVE IT - on that laptop! Only takes a minute to be safe - takes FOREVER when you screw up. I have a friend who was a grief counselor at a hospital - your husband died, she helped you. Then folks asked if she would help when someone lost their ANIMAL companion. Fine. Now - she also counsels people who lost their entire digital LIFE and all their work, screen play, symphony, whatever - because they never backed up anything. Learn how to do this - you will be at ease, instead of nervous about it.
