What happens when I backup my iPhone? Will I lose anything?
I'm trying to retrieve some old notes on my phone. Some people told me to backup my iPhone to do so. Will anything get deleted if I did so?
A backup wouldn't help retrieve anything. That would simply be a snapshot of your phone currently so if something was to go wrong you could restore from that point instead of from scratch.

To get those notes you may have to resort to any old backups you may have that they were stored in.
