Will my broken iPhone cause trouble at airport security?

Basically I'm on holiday, and a few days ago my iPhone had an accident with the pool. And now the light on the back stays on all the time, and won't switch off. Even when I power off the phone, it is still on. I'm flying from PuntaCana in Doninican Republic to Gatwick. Does anyone think (or know) that my phone will cause me any problems

It shouldn't. Security doesn't pay much attention to your phone anyways. If they do ask why it's on simply explain what happened and you'll be fine. You say it stays on when you turn it off. I would recommend that you place your phone in airplane mode before you turn it off when on the plane, that'll make sure accidental calls/messages won't come through. Hope this helps!

As Ty says, put it in airplane mode before boarding, and you will have no problems, I'd get it fixed when you get home, as this light will drain the battery and there maybe other faults that are connected with it.

While what you are saying is happening makes no sense, eventually the iPhone will run out of power. So it may run out of power before you have to fly back, and it would be a non issue.

If the light is still on, they may question it but if you can show the rest of the phone working you would be okay. If it is only the light that works and nothing else, they "may" see it as a possible issue but if it goes through the scanner and it looks normal they may let it go through. But when you are on the plane just make sure you keep the phone off an put away so they don't keep telling you to turn it off if they see the light on.

By the way if it never runs out of power, you may be able to get with Apple and show them your phone as you may have accidentally invented a totally new perpetual power source.

A phone that shows as ON won't be a problem at security, but could get you removed from the airplane if they see it. I suggest that you leave the silly thing at home! If you are flying home, you could mail it to yourself.
