Will my iphone5 from sprint work outside the usa?
I'm going to buy da Iphone 5 and this summer i'm going to africa and the place I'm going to, every1 uses T_mobile sim card.
Yes it will work, but it will charge you every time you send or receive a text, I suggest turning it off when outside the country.
Your phone will probably work, but I would strongly suggest that you contact sprint to see about using your phone out of the country. They may charge you a few dollars more each month, but it will save you some serious out of country charges.
It doesn't matter what phone company you have, unless you bought a world phone plan for your cell phone, it won't work. That being said, if you connect to Wi-Fi, you can go on the internet and you can send messages through iMessage but other than that it won't be like here. And Wi-Fi is hard to find outside the US. I recently went to Europe and had a horrendous time trying to find reliable Wi-Fi.
Go to the Sprint store and ask someone to help you unlock the iphone so you could use it in Africa.
The workers there will help you unlock it and once you get to Africa, just buy that tmobile sim and pop it into your iphone. It should work.
My iphone got unlocked with Sprint and I took it to china where I bought a sim card and used it.

I'm wondering if I can be able to send it to my sister in the Philippines and still work over there if she inserted a Philippines sim card. Or do I have to jailbreak or unlock it?
- Virgin Mobile iPhone5 from Canada can be activated from USA? Ok, so I now have the Optimus V and I hate it, I want the iPhone5 because it's cheaper than getting the iPhone 4 here. But they only have it for Canada and Australia, is it possible that I can just buy the phone from Canada and activate it here?
