Will taking the battery out of my Iphone ruin it?

Not sure why I think it might, but i dropped my iphone in water and I was told I should take the battery out then put it in a bag of rice… For some reason I'm just worried I might ruin it. Will it?

It won't ruin it, but be very careful when taking your battery out, iphones are not built to be taken apart, and you will void your warranty with apple (usually lasts a year unless you have the apple protection plan). I would suggest to keep your battery in there for and put it in a bag of rice, (the rice draws out the moisture). If after a few days it doesn't turn on then I would suggest sending it to repair, or getting an entirely new iphone. I would only take the battery out only as a last resort.

If youre not an experienced person to reassemble your iphone then don't do it. You can easily move something or screw internals up. Iphones are not meant to be open they are sealed tight. If you dropped it in water, what will the battery do if you take it out? The whole entire phone got wet, so I recommend leave it and put it in a bag of rice and leave it for like 3-5 days and check up on it afterwards. I wouldn't recommend opening up your iphone and taking the battery out, its not meant to be anyways and it wouldn't do much if you would. And btw no if you take it out it will not ruin the iphone just be very careful if you do, you can go on youtube and watch some tuturials on taking It out. Hope I helped.
