Wireless network: what one will I need?
So I have a netgear router it's almost 6 years old. It always disconnects my divices. We have 2 laptops, a gaming system, 3 tablets and an iPhone. What router would be able to properly keep these divices connected, provide lag-free gaming and fast internet access. Willing to spend whatever on a new router.
Well, if you are having disconnection problems, it might be some other form of interference, or it might be some heat problem.
I recommend Asus, Buffalo, Trendnet and TP-link brands. The first two for more performance, the second for budget needs.
Wireless-AC is the latest standard, but not necessarily useful for you.
None of the above? Wireless routers haven't changed much in 6 years, and the claimed higher speeds of newer routers are at higher frequencies, which unfortunately do not travel as far as the lower existing frequencies. The best system would be a wired gigabit local area network, coupled with a cable internet or fiber optic internet connection.
You may need a new router, after all, it's a heavy burden for a router been use last six years, huawei e8278 which i'm using now, a router with modem with the 150Mbps download speed, can support 10 Wi-Fi devices simultaneously, it works flawlessly in my home.
- Wireless router experiencing problems when an Apple device connects via wireless? We have a home router (CD-R King brand), everything runs smoothly until someone with an apple device connects to the network. I tried pinging google continuously, but when an ipad or iphone connects. The network goes down. i've heard this problem from a friend.what's causing this problem?
- Wireless network not showing up? For some reason my wireless network is not showing up on my laptop or my phone. I've tried turning the router off and then turning it back on but it didn't work. The internet works fine if I plug the Ethernet cord into my laptop but when I try to connect wirelessly, I can see all the other networks around me but mine doesn't even show up. Normally, my laptop or iphone will connect automatically. This just started happening 2 days ago out of nowhere. Anyone have any suggestions?
- Wireless network keep disappearing? I have two wireless networks at home. I have a problem with only one of the devices. It's a Benq Joybook R46. That Laptop keeps losing wireless connection and even not seeing any of them. The other devices are working great. I have another laptop and an iphone. I wonder where the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- What does an iphone look like on a wireless network? My iPhone is named iPhone 28796. When I connect to a network does it show that iPhone 28796 is connected to the network or does it come up as something else? Does it even come up at all?
