With 2 step verification on Twitter does it matter what phone I use to get the code is an iphone safer than a cheap phone or not?

All that matters is the phone number and who has access to that phone number, as far as I'm aware. Newer phones have more security measures (pin locks, fingerprint id) than older phones, and most people have all their social media and emails, etc, tied to their iphones and androids anyways, so they use they same number out of convenience. I suppose doing it with a separate phone wouldn't be all that bad as long as no one else got ahold of it. It would probably have to be a registered phone with access to SMS so you'd essentially be paying for two phones, and I'm not sure if that's worth it.
