Would downloading and streaming while Wi-Fi is on still take up cellular data?
I turned cellular data off on my iPhone and turned on Wi-Fi. I'm allowed 7GB of data each month and the cell carrier told me not to make and big downloads or stream videos or it will slow my internet down. If I do these things while Wi-Fi is on, would I still be using up the 7GB? Or can I download and stream freely like I did with my iPod?
As long as you have a Wi-Fi connection, you are not using the 7GB allotment from your carrier.
- Would I need a fast mbps rate to host audio streaming? My ambition is to create an iPhone app, in which users will be able to listen to streamed music (like Pandora, or Spotify). My concern is if I'll need a quick net speed to accomplish this fluidly (current is 10mbps down, 3mbps up), as I want as few listeners as possible to have to face buffering issues. I'll be using a PC (Lenovo Z40, if specifics matter) as the dedicated server to host the music being streamed. Could anyone assist?
- When you have Wi-Fi and cellular data on at the same time, does it use cellular data? If I keep my cellular data on and also have my iPhone connected to Wi-Fi, will it use any of my cellular data?
- Using location services on iPhone while cellular data is off? If I have turned off cellular data on my iPhone 5 and have location services on, will I be charged? In other words, do location services use cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available, even though I have turned off cellular data?
- Is it possible to watch a movie on pc while streaming the audio to my iphone? The reason i'm looking for this is because i want to watch a movie from my PC witch is connected to my big screen tv, but i want to hear the audio on my headphones and i'm sitting far from the tv and PC so i can't connect it to them, I wonder if it's possible to hear the audio on my iphone.
