Would it be a good purchase to buy a MacBook?
I want to buy a MacBook because I like to think of myself as team apple. Please don't make fun of me but I have iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and I even have an iMac but it's not portable. I just always hear people saying the MacBooks don't age well but I never hear it from someone with a MacBook. Even if I have to I don't mind buying a MacBook with all the extra trimming but how much use will I get out of it.
Nah. Too expensive and its just the same as the "competition". You can get a computer for HALF the price of a MacBook and its runs twice as good
Ignore MetroMan, the twit is clueless.
MacBooks are THE goto for most developers. They last forever, because they use higher quality parts (higher standards of testing). They also have top notch tech support. While most devs will update their Macbook every 2-4 years, the typical home user can easily get double that time span out of them. I still use my macbook Air (2011) and it still runs rock solid. Like anything else, you just have to take care of it properly.
I've got a Macbook and they don't age well. I've had to take it apart a couple times, and now run Linux on it because Apple stopped supporting it about four years after it was made.
Apple has started leaving lots of engineering "mistakes" in their devices over generations to make them fail before they should, then they are very careful at lot letting parts get out there so only their certified technicians can repair them. Look up Louis Rossman if you want more info on it, he's a repairman that's been dealing with Apple products for a while.
Meanwhile, people like the OS, and they like how the different devices integrate together. If that's worth the price to you, then go for it.
I love my 17" MBP, it remains rock solid unlike my 3 Windows laptops, and yes, I use both. So far I've spent $62 on a replacement board, and that included labor at the Apple store.
I did upgrade to a 2TB SSD.
Waiting for announcements come Sept to see what I'll do for a replacement.
Considering Air, MBP 16, iMac 27 myself
- Would I be able to purchase the iPhone 5c and not violate my contract? I bought the iPhone 5 two months ago and now that the 5c is out, I want to purchase it. I'm not able to upgrade, but what if I just went to the apple store and bought it. Would my phone company let me activate it?
- Why won't it let me buy an in app purchase? So, i have a jailbroken iphone, and it didn't come with the in app purchases. & my friend gave me a itunes card to buy it. It won't let me buy it, and i've already offically bought the game, instead it gives me an error message saying "to purchase an application change the terminal settings" I have no idea, what is wrong. & it would also tell me this when i had an ilegal version, from installous. So any help?
- What would be a good iphone 4/4s (Amazon) to be a good test dummy? So I want to try to replace a iphone screen, and since the iphone 4/4s would be a good candidate, since it's hard to replace its screen, I would use one of them. But since I have a phone that's in Like New condition (been in a otterbox in addition to screen protectors) I don't want to use it. Can some one help me find a good phone to test on?
- Is the iphone 8 plus good? Is there anything I should keep in mind before i purchase the phone? I'm buying the iphone 8 + tomorrow at tmobile. I wanted to know if there's anything i should know. I been an android user my entire life and i'm new to apple products. Plewse give ms an informative and detailed response. Much appreciated.
