Anyone have any opinion on switching to an Android phone from an iPhone?

I don't want to know why Android rules and iPhone sucks or vice versa, I'd like to hear from someone who made the switch, either way actually, and how they liked or didn't like it. My first smart phone was an iPhone 4 and I've had it for about 2 years now.

I SWITCHED! Don't do it apps are way better on iphone and i'm on my 4th android phones there all broken and messed up and not durable i'm stuck with a droid until next year D

I've had every single iPhone. Then I go to android. It's pretty cool. But I always run back. I have an S4 right now.selling it for a5s next week

I had an android when they first came out and it was okay (HTC Incredible) with froyo then gingerbread. It had issues and I wasn't too crazy about it. Then I got an ipod touch 5th gen last year. I LOVE it and the security is better than android when it comes to banking apps and other secure info. I now have that iPod and still love it and I also bought a Samsung Galaxy Express and have an AT&T GoPhone $60 monthly plan and I love my combo of iPod and Android, but I love tech toys. I don't have any secure apps on my android because they do have more security issues than Apple, just like a Mac vs PC. I like having both for different things.

Switching may be the best choice u ever make… Iphones are trash compared to androids, they are basic with about 5% of the features of android, and as for the person below they must be buying budget used £80 androids to be on their 4th one…

I like Android because you have more choices. IPhone holds value better though.

You can buy an upgrade and save money on an off-contract phone or sell your upgrade eligibility for up to $300 profit at UpgradeSwap.com so you have options.

The switch will be the best you can ever make. I had an Iphone 5 and I liked it. Then I switched to a galaxy s4 and I loved it. It has less paid apps, and it has a better interface. Android is also a broader area. If you don't like phones with quiet speakers you can get an HTC ONE which has the best speakers on the market. If you like a nice, and crisp movie experience that is a waterproof phone, you can get a sony xperia z. If you like huge phones you can get a Samsung galaxy note 3 when it comes out. The Iphone 5 only has one better feature which is it's build quality, but when you have an otterbox you don't really notice it. Hope I helped.

I have an opinion as I researched Apple and have never understood the fascination.

You now need to get a body double due to the serious upgrade you are about to undertake.

Coincidentally your phone the IP4 was the latest iphone when Samsung responded with the SGS II.

The Samsung Galaxy S II (2) was released in MAY 2011 & has 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera.

18 months later November 2012 Apple puts a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor & 8Mp camera in a phone and call it the iPhone5

Just going to the SGS II you have gone past the IP5 and the SGS II is still scheduled for 1 more official Android update. All FOR MUCH MUCH LESS than it would have cost for staying in the orchard.

The so call upgrade from the IP5 to the IP5S are at best cosmetic. The IP5S is still a Dual Core phone the THIRD DUAL CORE PHONE WITH AN 8MP CAMERA IPHONE.

There's no comparison it is a win win win situation. As I don't know all the arguments put forward for a fingerprint scanner by Apple I can replicate the effect with the security provided by the 2 Anti theft Samsung and the free standalone anti theft installed.

Here is an question IP5 OR S4 question which only delays you further in getting that substantial upgrade

  • Whatsapp: Switching from iPhone to Android. Do I lose service? I've purchased Whatsapp on iPhone. I've got a lifetime service now. If I switch to Android, will I have to purchase Whatsapp again from the Google Play store? Thanks Going from iPhone 4s to galaxy note 3
  • Switching Sim cards from Iphone 5 to Android phone? Probably a simple question, but I would like some input. I was wondering if I can take the Sim card from my iPhone 5 and use it on an Android or windows phone like the Galaxy 3 or Nokia Lumina? Is this possible and if it is how? Also I have Verizon and if I can switch to another device I will get a Verizon Phone. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you. I was wondering if a sim adapter would work?
  • Switching phones on Verizon.iPhone and android? A person who is on my family plan is using their phone upgrade to get an iPhone 5. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus. When the new iPhone is activated on their number, can we then switch phones so I would have the iPhone and my original number, and they have the Nexus? Does the iPhone to android factor affect this switch.
  • Switching from Iphone to android or windows phone? So, I currently own an I-phone, but I'm thinking about switching to a Samsung galaxy s4 or a Nokia Lumia 928. However I have always had apple devices hence, I have bought a lot of music. My question is, is there any way to transfer the music you bought from an apple phone to a windows or android phone?
