Buying the iPhone 5s unlocked?
I'm debating whether or not I should just buy it unlocked from the apple store, ($812 including tax). Do you think it would be unreasonable if I did? I do already have the money saved up, and would not be blowing it all just on a phone. I'm not interested in contracts because just in case I can't afford it one month. So I was just thinking of getting a prepaid plan, so I can buy a plan whenever I want. Do you think it would be kind of dumb if I did that? Much appreciated!
If you were to buy a unlocked iphone 5s i would recommend to buy it from amazon. I went and look on the price and you can get the standered 16gb version for a little more than $500
It would be reasonable and the resale value will be very high. Purchasing directly from Apple, they have the ability to do more for you than to purchase through a third party like amazon (such as sell AppleCare or look up your purchase in the event you ever need a copy of your receipt due to something such as activation lock).
People pay loads for unlocked iPhones, so if you do have buyers remorse, you can easily resell it.
- What to look for when buying an unlocked tmobile iphone? Wanna get an iphone but i'm on a family plan and they have Tmobile (and won't switch) so i was looking on ebay for an Unlocked iphone 4s. But was wondering what are somethings a should look for and keep in mind such as prices condition, etc. So i don't get ripped off or pay to much?!

- Is there any risk in buying an unlocked iPhone? I'm out of contract with AT&T, with a 3Gs. My son tells me I should buy an unlocked 4s from a private party to preserve my unlimited data plan. Aside from taking the usual precautions for a high dollar private transaction, are there other concerns? If I walked into an Apple store with a question about using the phone, could they tell its status, and if so what could they do to me? Also, is unlocking a phone the same as jail-breaking it?
