Can an iPhone IMEI number possibly be changed?
I recently had my iPhone 3GS stolen from me.
The police have arrested somebody today who they saw on CCTV using MY bank card and found a 32GB White iPhone 3GS (my exact model) in his possession. However when I told them the IMEI number of my stolen phone it did not match to the one they had seized.
so is it possible for the robber to have changed the phone's IMEI number?
Help would be much appreciated As soon as possible please.
It can't be changed, no IMEI number can be changed, report it to apple, they will lock your phone permanantly
No you can't change the imei… Maybe you told them the meid instead?
It is illegal, and the IMEI number can't be changed on the iPhone 3G.

Or is it a lost cause. I kow apple says they won't flag the phone as stolen and neither will the carrier, but can it be tracked by imei?
- I changed my number, now how do I change it on in my Iphone? I have an iPhone 5c and I can't figure out how to change my number where it says "my number". Is it possible for me to do it, or would I have to go to the sprint store?
- Changed my number, but people can still text? I recently changed to a new number for my iphone 4s, but how come people from my contacts can still text me when i haven't given them my number yet? My friend says when i text her my old number appears in a new window and when she texts me its in a window with my new number. How can i fix this? I don't want certain people to know my new number! This was all done in imessage by the way.
