Can I have bad grades and be successful?

I'm 17 years old and going into my senior year. All through high school I have gotten Bs and an occasional c or c+ but this past year I got straight Bs and two Cs. I want to go into college for business and soon after that move to LA. I have a very big goal of what I want to do and that is owning my own makeup company. I'm very good at make up and I know a lot about it. I make money doing makeup for weddings and prom and different events. I made my own iPhone app when I was 12 years old and it is still on the App Store today. I feel like I couldn't do my best in high school because I have been going through a very rough time with my family. This coming senior year I plan to try my hardest to get good grades. I want to get into ball state. But right now I have a 2.89 GPA. I'm determined and artistically strong. I know what I want to do and I don't plan on letting anyone stop me. I was just wondering if there's anyone else out there like this. Where their grades aren't the best or their life hasn't been easy but they are still successful.

Of course. Especially because you want to do makeup.

My brother failed every single one of his exams and is currently earning more than my mother. Some employers don't care for grades, they don't determine how much effort you'll give. Exams don't show how good at building or teaching you are. Have hope and hood luck!

In high school I had 2.0 grade point average and became a millionaire. High school doesn't matter but it needs to be good enough to get you into colleges to do what you want to do. My grades were down because I didn't care, but I got better grades in college (still not great) because I knew it mattered much more…

  • Would a Milk bar be a successful marketing idea/ project? As a final project in my marketing course, we're suppose to create an original good/service and work with it and plan a presentation filled with reasons why it would work, targets, forecasts etc etc. Another idea is a student utility app, where it can be downloaded into an iphone/ etc and as it says it is a utlility with updates, notes and most things a student would need to survive H.S.
  • Why is apple so successful even when their product is not that revolutionary? Whenever apple comes with a product, a whole bunch of people try to preorder it. I have no problem with apple what so ever. How do they manage to get people to buy their things even when they are not the best out there? I mean the iphone 5 is like a book with a different cover. The newest ipad is the same thing. Do you think apple needs to make any changes to the hardware? To me, they have to change their operating system. People are tired of just swiping.
  • Why are Persians so successful? Okay so I live in the United States and in California. Their are a lot of Persian people at my school and they're not poor. They look upper-middle class to wealthy. They wear really good quality expensive clothes, Iphones, dive nice cars like Mustangs and BMW's. I realize that it's not the people at my school it's their parents. Like they have so much success where they drop a ton of money on their kids.
  • Why are other people jealous of those that are wealthy and successful? Is this a mental disorder?
