Can my iphone or droid connect to an ad-hoc wireless network?
I have an iPhone 4 and a Droid x2 and was wondering if they could both somehow connect to an ad-hoc network. I'm at a house that has no Wi-Fi but a laptop that is plugged into a clearwire modem. The laptop is a Vaio and is running windows vista. I would like to know how to set up this or another network that could give me internet access on either of my devices.
You Can't Connect to Any Ad-hoc Network With any Android Smartphone. But You Can Connect to Infrastructure Network.
- Why won't my Ad-Hoc connection work? I'm in Greece on vacation, and I brought my laptop and my phone with me. I have a dial up connection for my laptop and used that to create my ad-hoc connection. The dial up connection is actually a USB internet on the go. I use pre paid cards and have a connection with a company here in Greece. I want to connect my iPhone to Wi-Fi and would like to know why it isn't working. Thanks for any help Yes and it says that its shared in network connections
- Trying to connect iPhone 4 to Windows 7 ad-hoc? I'm trying to connect my iphone 4 to my windows 7 laptop via ad-hoc connection. I have done it before just fine but this time it isn't working the devices "connect" but my iphone does not switch from "3G" to the Wi-Fi symbol and my laptop says "Unidentified Network" then under that says "No Internet Access" please help!
- One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My iphone will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It can connect to any other network with no problems All my other devices at home connect with no problem, but once i updated my phone it won't connect here. I've reset the router, my network settings, forgot this network, even wiped out my phone and it still won't work. I changed the dns several times. Sometimes that works for a little while, but then eventually stops. What the hell?
