Can my iphone still work after being in the washing machine?

I'm 15 years old, and i got an iphone 4s a few months ago. I came home from school today and I had left my iphone completely dead in my pocket, and my mom put it into the wash for about a half hour like that. I took it out and placed it in rice and made a little box next to my heating vent and put it there so it is a little warm. Is there any chance that it can be revived? I don't have the money for a new one, and my parents won't buy me another right now(not that they should, but i feel my mom should've at least checked the pockets or noticed because the phone is heavier than the shorts).

It it works then you'll have 100% undeniable proof that there's a God.

Maybe if you keep it in the rice or take it took sprint or where you got it from.

That sounds pretty negative, but it is so darn common that it is almost a national joke by now.

As you probably already know, there are almost an endless number of ways that your iPhone can come into contact with moisture. For example, recently, I had my iPhone 4 in my back pocket when it accidentally slipped out when I had my pants down using the toilet. Don't ask! There's some good news however, and that is in most cases, a wet iPhone repair can be made without your having to buy a new one. Yes, dropped iphone in toilet is very, very common.

The terrific news is that all models of iPhones can usually be repaired after sustaining water damage, but this must be evaluated on a case by case basis (in my case, my iPhone could be repaired for a nominal charge).

Fortunately, iPhones consist of parts that can be readily swapped out for good ones. If, however, your iPhone has been fully submerged in water or other wet substances, chances are that the logic board in your iPhone has been exposed to moisture and corrosion has begun to take place.

If the logic board is damaged, the cost of the repair can get quite pricey, especially if other parts also need to be replaced on your iPhone. The logic board is the main circuit board in the iPhone that runs the operating system and stores all data on the iPhone. The logic board is not typically too expensive to replace on its own, however, coupled with other parts that might also need to be replaced, the cost for repair may run you a pretty penny.

  • My iphone 5s went on a washing machine and it turns on and the screen too but the touch dosent work? I tried putting it in rice and drying it with a hair drier or blow drier everything works except the touch and the screen has a white strap going down and you can see the water or water stains any suggestions
  • My iphone 5 was in the washing machine It was in the pocket of a pair of sweatpants for about 5 minutes by the time i realized i had left it in there the water had just started to run. My phone was wet but there didn't seem to be too much damage. The music still played fine and i could hear people on calls. But then i noticed a screen discoloration in the bottom left corner! Is this bad? Do i need to go to the Apple Genius Bar or to the Verizon store? I'm soaking it in rice now and it is still in warranty.

  • IPhone dongle went through washing machine? I accidentally left the dongle (lightning to aux adapter) in the pocket of a jacket that went through the washing machine. The cord s completely dry, so is there any harm in trying to plug it into the iPhone and an aux cord to see if it still works?
