Dropped my iPhone 4 in the washing machine

Today, my phone ended up in the washing machine. I realized and took it out five minutes later. It was opening at first but there was water in the screen. I kept clicking buttons and it just turned off. It ran out of charge and the charger isn't working. It's been in rice since, but it's not working. Is there any way I can fix it?

You put it in the dryer of course

Don't try to do anything with it. Bury it in rice for 5+ hours. If that doesn't work, i hope you have insurance

You may be hosed… Try this: http://www.gatorspit.com/tips/iphone-water.html

Don't turn it on, that can ruin it.

  • My iphone 5s went on a washing machine and it turns on and the screen too but the touch dosent work? I tried putting it in rice and drying it with a hair drier or blow drier everything works except the touch and the screen has a white strap going down and you can see the water or water stains any suggestions
  • My iphone 5 was in the washing machine It was in the pocket of a pair of sweatpants for about 5 minutes by the time i realized i had left it in there the water had just started to run. My phone was wet but there didn't seem to be too much damage. The music still played fine and i could hear people on calls. But then i noticed a screen discoloration in the bottom left corner! Is this bad? Do i need to go to the Apple Genius Bar or to the Verizon store? I'm soaking it in rice now and it is still in warranty.
  • Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
  • IPhone dongle went through washing machine? I accidentally left the dongle (lightning to aux adapter) in the pocket of a jacket that went through the washing machine. The cord s completely dry, so is there any harm in trying to plug it into the iPhone and an aux cord to see if it still works?
