Hotspot problem on an iPhone 4S?
I have a iPhone 4S on Verizon and I use the hotpot everyday and it had a huge hotspot range that I could connect anywhere in the house and now I can only go about 5 feet away from the phone or I lose the signal. I don't know how to fix it though, any thoughts?
If you used to have a huge hotspot but now the range is limited it suggests that either a neighbour has installed a new Wi-Fi that is blanking your hotspot, or that you have some new piece of electronic kit that is interfering with the hotspot. It could even just be that you've re-arranged your furniture or added a new piece of furniture.
If you want to boot the range of the hotspot your phone creates then ideally it would need to be at head height, in a clear an open space, metallic objects disrupt hot spots more than anything else!
Also try changing the orientation of the device, even the difference between laying it flat and standing it up can make a huge difference when using a mobile to create a hot spot!
*Note the comment about your neighbours Wi-Fi… This is entirely to do with the inadequacies of using a phone/tablet to create a hot spot, and not anything that you should be expecting your neighbour to fix! **I live on the third floor of an apartment block, and as a result on the clear side of the building I have about 800m range from the router!
- What additional cost may occur from making my iphone a personal hotspot? I turned on the personal hotspot option in settings on my iphone but it says additional costs may occur. Does that mean it costs money for me to connect my other devices or just if i exceed the amount of 3g i'm paying for.
- Is the personal hotspot option on the iphone safe? I just learned i can use my iphone as a hotpot and i freaked out! Apparently you go settings, general, network, the it says personal hotspot! So is it safe? More importantly does it cost a lot or free?
- IPhone hotspot without data roaming? I'm roaming and have data roaming turned off. I would like to use the Wi-Fi network my iPhone is connected to to provide Wi-Fi for a laptop. The laptop does not connect to the hotspot until data roaming is turned on, but this is what I'm trying to avoid. How can I get my laptop to connect to my iPhone and then by extension to the Wi-Fi network? The laptop can't connect to the Wi-Fi directly for other reasons.

On my phone i have a bunch of songs and i turned of home sharing with my friend. So i got all of her songs to. i'm ok with that.anyways on my ipad i have all the songs I bought. I want to get all the songs i hve on my phone to my ipad. I don't know how though. I use the same apple id and everything. On my ipad i went to songs not on ipad folder but found nothing?
