How exactly does AT&T Next work?

I'm planning on getting a new phone probably with AT&T because I currently have a phone with T-Mobile and let's just say they don't have the best service ever. I would really like to get an Iphone 5s with AT&T without a contract and without having to pay a lot of money. I heard about AT&T Next but I'm not really sure how it works. If I were to get an Iphone 5s on AT&T Next, around how much would I end up paying for the phone and how much would the plan cost if I wanted unlimited talk, text, and data as well as international calling (which is $10 a month I believe). If you have any information at all, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • What exactly does turning off Data Roaming do? Living in SK, Canada IPhone 4 under Sasktel. Okay so when I go to work located near the boarder occasionally I get a your now US roaming chargers messages. Does turning off data roaming remove all roaming charges like phone calls, messages, etc or just email and Internet like it says? I'd hate to be billed just because I'm too close. Just been turning off all network connections at work so far and data roaming is usually off anyway.
  • What exactly does the iPhone backup back up? I'm going to update my iPhone software (finally!) and I'm worried that all of my data won't be saved. For example, will I have all of my notes, picture folders, app data, emails, etc? I'm terrified that I'll lose my notes. I can email them to myself if need be and there's really no way to back it up, but I'd like to aboid that tedious process if possible.
  • What exactly does apples 1 year warranty cover? I got an iPhone 5 in January and recently I noticed that there's 2 tiny black spots on the screen. I'm guessing they're the size of a pixel or 2. And also one of my volume buttons doesn't seem as clicky as the other one. The main reason I want to get this fixed is that if I wait until next year and suddenly it gets worse I won't be covered by the warranty. Also I won't have time to visit an apple store for about a month hence I'm asking here.
  • What Does Restoring An iPhone Using iTunes Do Exactly? I have a jailbroken iphone 4. Yesterday, I deleted a file from the system of the iPhone using iExplorer on Windows (I deleted the file so that I fix an issue), The issue I was having was gone after deleting the file from system. The question: If I restore my iPhone using iTunes to factory settings, I know the jailbreak would go, but will the DELETED file reappear again?
