How much money will I receive if I press charges?

I'm still confused about the whole process, recently I was set up by a connect of mine and when I got there to meet him he was with a group of people, and he took my money, and was ordering me to empty out the rest of my pockets, some one came and reached into my pocket took my iPhone 6 and smashed it. Someone else punched me in the side of my head and they jumped my friend. I was scared for my life. Couple weeks later today, the police called me and told me they are getting a warrant for his arrest, if I testify in court and the defendant is found guilty, what compensation will I receive?

You won't receive any compensation. This is clearly a criminal case, the idea is to punish the offender, not to give you money.

You would have to sue in small claims court. You would receive the cost of your medical bills, possibly pain and suffering. To be honest, it sounds like a drug deal gone wrong (your "connect"). If you have no medical bills to substantiate your claim, expect nothing.

Whatever the judge might grant. Probably not more than the value of what you lost.

You won't receive any compensation for the criminal case, you'd need to bring a civil claim against the people who attacked you to get any sort of monetary compensation.

Also, if you were attacked while doing some criminal activity, don't expect much by way of punitive damages- the judge may find that you assumed the risk here by putting yourself in a criminal context.

If you weren't doing anything illegal that was likely to get you mugged, though, sue for assault and battery. The proper court to bring this suit would vary by state. Punitive damages are generally awarded for these claims, or at the very least your medical bills will be compensated if they exist.
