How to bypass iphone activation after resetting?

I bought an iphone 5s from my friend (she found it) and i resetted it, but i can't get past the activation password and email. I took out the sim card an it was basically a new phone but it won't let me set up the phone. Do i get a new sim for it? How do i bypass the activation password?

If an email that you do not recognize is displayed when you are trying to activate it on that screen, the phone is connected to the previous owner's iCloud account. There's no way to bypass this without consulting the previous owner.

You can't bypass a anti-theft setting. Knowing purchasing a stolen phone, (you friend can't sell something that is not theirs) is a CRIME.

Your friend found the phone, it has the iCloud lock. You'll need the original owner's ID and password to get past that. Officially, it's not possible without giving the owner's Apple ID and password but if you're ready to spend some, you can use the phone again. If you need more info, mail me.

You need the password, iphone security is not something you want to mess with, especially when its notifying the previous owner on the map exactly where its located.
