How to bypass iPhone activation without a SIM card to use as an iPod?

I have a iPhone that I want to use as an iPod and it doesn't have a sim is there anyway to bypass this like connecting it to iTunes or some thing. I can't jail break because there isn't one for iOS 6.1.3 so any possibilities

  • Will cutting my sim card work to use as a micro sim card? I just ordered an iPhone 4 and I need to cut the sim card to make it a Micro sim. Will it affect it. I'm currently with cricket and my sim card reads as "SIM NOT SUPPORTED" is there any way to bypass this screen? Or a a sim adapter(if any on amazon) to use my cricket sim on the iphone and finally do the activation. And be able to access the homescreen
