How to make 3g work on my iphone 5s overseas?
I'm using Vodafone and have activated that $5 roaming.
I turned on Data roaming and the 3g symbol pops up the top and it still doesn't connect?
Do i need data roaming on for it to work or can i leave it off?

You need to turn data roaming off or you could be landed with a very hefty bill. Be aware that the $5 charge you've paid is probably just to enable the roaming, and if you make OR RECEIVE calls while abroad if you've not got the appropriate package your included minutes will not be valid and again you will have to pay very steep charges for those calls!
You need to speak to someone from your phone provider to explain just what you can and can't do, and more importantly how much it is going to cost you - only your phone provider can tell you this!
