How to track a stolen iPhone?
My friend got her iPhone stolen today @ school & we're trying to help her find it. I told her about the find your iPhone app but she didn't have it so I don't think it'll work to find it? So is there any other way to track her phone? All I know left is to call the police.
I don't think there's, and unfortunately I'm pretty sure the police won't help either
As long as she is running iOS 5 or later (owns a iPhone 4S or 5 she defiantly is, if she has a iPhone 4 she probobly is) than she is already using find my iPhone automatically. Go to the iCloud website and have sign in and click "find my iPhone" Than lock it, play a sound, and put it in lost mode. That will help you find it.
The app is automatically on the phone, so unless she had it turned off it should be accessible. She can log in to her iTunes account and try to track it that way.
Yes, the police should have been called. Your property was stolen and it could potentially be used to commit crimes. They need to be notified immediately.
The account holder can log in to their account with the carrier and see if it is being used. If they have something like T-Mobile's Family Allowances set up, they can see the numbers any calls or texts are being made to/from and that may help track the phone.
There are two real ways to track a cell, one is to call the service to track it with the gps

I have i cloud on it, but whenever i try to find my phone it says "last seen 6 hours ago" at the same spot i was, If the thief were to restore my iphone could i still track it?
