How to use an external mic as default on ASUS laptop?
So I'm using an ASUS A42J laptop. And it's microphone is already busted. Whenever I use it, the people I talk to can't hear me. Well, they could hear me at first, but then they'll be hearing something with a buzzing sound and next thing they hear is my voice drowning until it reaches complete silence and not hear a thing anymore. However, I have a headset, complete with earphones and a microphone. It's the one used for the iPhone, so it has no on/off switch whatsoever. How can I use the headset's mic as my default? I believe that the ASUS laptop has only one jock, but as I've mentioned, the headset has both the earphones and mic. So yeah, the laptop's built in mic isn't working anymore. So I have to make use of an external mic.
Right click on your volume icon on the taskbar, click recording devices and choose your external mic.
Forget using that iphone headset thing. Go buy a real set made for a pc. They aren't expensive and the word is "jack".
- Asus laptop stopped connecting to the wireless router? We know it is not the router because the HP Notebook works and our iPhones work. When Windows runs a detection for errors it reports none. We have unplugged everything a few times, have hit FN F2 nothing. The only message we get is to call a friend who might know how to fix it!

- Put music onto my Asus laptop? I have a desktop computer with over 500 songs on iTunes and my asus laptop (which I haven't been on 3 years,) only has a little over 100 songs on iTunes. It usually drops connection in one room of the house but it does in others also. I know I have a good signal bc iPad iPhone. What should I do? I have about a week if I want to return.
