I dropped my iPhone 4s in water, what can I do?
When I dropped it, I took it out immediately and dried it before putting it in rice but I didn't learn that I needed to turn it off until I got home about 2 hours later, so it's off now. Before I turned it off though, the sound was working perfectly fine and the screen could still be seen but very very faintly. Does anyone know what has happened or anything I can do to fix it because I believe apple doesn't cover water damage?
Put it in rice.
Remove the battery, put it in rice, leave it sit for about 24 hours. You may still have damage due to keeping it powered while shorted, but if it was just water you should be able to let it dry out and it'll be fine.
Its still alive. The only thing you can do is to wait for the rice to do it's magic.
and with luck it will dry just fine.
if anything is damaged then there's not much you can do.

Its been in there for around 15 hours or so and i checked on it and it gave me the charge sign but i read online to not charge after awhile or it could damage it even further. Should i charge it or should i give it another 12 to 24 hours.

Ti read on the apple website to go to the store, and That the warranty doesn't cover if the red dot appears. so can i fix this on my own? Please Help! I need the phone to do my job. And i don't have the time or the money to get it to the store and pay for this.

Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
