I dropped my Iphone 5 down the toilet?

It happened last night, I dropped it in the toilet and it was in there at least five seconds before i pulled it out, I turned it on and it went off so iim assuming it's short circuited, I put it in rice over night and it's still in the rice, but it's not working and it will not turn on, I'm willing to pay to get it fixed, but how much would it cost? And is it even possible to fix?

Well apple will rip you off with about 60 to 200 to get it fixed. But are you kidding me a few seconds? Are they that bad? Maybe try charging it which probably won't work.

Depends where you go and where you live. Apple will replace the entire phone for about $150, walmart may do it for $100

You should leave it in the rice for at least 24 hours to see if it works. And for future reference, if something similar happens again you should not turn the phone on. Just put it directly in rice.

Mmm water damage.

Rice only absorbs water on the outside of your phone, not the inside where all the damage has been done. You could try putting it in your kitchen oven on very low heat for several hours, but I'm guessing the phone is destroyed and can't be fixed.

BTW, how do people drop phones in toilets? I've never been able to figure that out.

I mean why would you be using the phone in the bathroom in the first place, and it aint just white girls that do this too, this one black girl and a mixed girl i know drop their phone in the toilet too. the bathroom is for business not phones AM I RIGHT?

  • Iphone 4S dropped down the toilet I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet earlier. The back camera is blurry. The phone itself is working but won't register with iTunes. I've put it in a bag of rice in the airing cupboard to dry out. Do you think this will be enough to bring it back to life?
  • If you were to flush plastic down the toilet? Will it go down? Or will it float back up and choke up the pipe. The plastic is a little smaller than an iPhone 3. Like maybe 3cm smaller.
