Well, if you are backing up your phone anyway using iCloud, make sure that on your phone, you have checked CONTACTS. If, however, you share an account with w someone ( as I do with my husband) do NOT both back up your contacts in the same place, or in the same way - or all YOURS and all HIS will get mixed together! We did this by accident once - what a mess!
