I'm trying to decide between an android or iPhone?
Ok so I'm going to buy my first smartphone and need help. I've looked at and compared the HTC One, BB Z10, IPhone 5c, and Samsung G4, and LG G2.
Trouble is, I don't know which OS to go with, and which is better for me, and what not, or which phone is the best as far as cost-effective vs. What it does.
Also how much Data do I need (moderate-light user) 2GB? (Would mostly be on Wi-Fi, which I believe doesn't use data?)
BTW I'm an Electrical engineering student so learning curve not a huge issue. Just want the best bang for my buck.
You get more juice for the money that you pay with an android operated smartphone rather than with an IPhone if you are willing to pay the same amount of money.
While the i Phone 5 has a nice build and it is a very lovely phone, btw the 5c is made of plastic, it is a budget option, i would not buy that.
I don't think that you need a high end smartphone to be honest, buy something like a Samsung galaxy S3
or a Motorola G. I guarantee you that you are not going to need more hardware power than that.
In my opinion, don't buy a smartphone at all, i hate the battery life, the fact that phones are very fragile and that after some time you get dependent from social sites and apps like "What's Up".
I'm am studying electrical engineering myself as well, and i can say that i mostly used my smartphone when i was bored during lectures.
What are you trying to start a flame war?! LOL
I vote iPhone because they always work, are intuitive to set up and the support is great. Now watch all the haters come out of the woodwork!
-Yes the iPhone has a smaller screen
-Yes one phone does this thing better, or that thing better
-But over-all, iPhone is better built, has a better OS
Oh and I'd avoid the BB, not because it is a bad phone but they were too late to the party and may not be a company very much longer
If you are getting a 4G phone (and why wouldn't you now) you will have no choice but getting at lesat 2G of data (probably more really) but this will cover a LOT of off wireless streaming.
2gb is fine if you plan to run a lot of Wi-Fi. If you're an EE student go Android. HTC One or Galaxy s4 is my 2 cents. Best luck.
The best thing you can do is go to a store and play around with all the phones you're interested in. Whatever you like better you should go with. For moderate use of OTA data and mostly on Wi-Fi then 2GB should be fine. You can monitor how much data you use and if it seems like you need more you can always upgrade your plan or try to use less data.
IPhone.

- When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
- IPhone trying to iMessage an android? So I have a friend who recently switched over from an iPhone to an android and for some reason my phone is still trying to iMessage her and she's not receiving any of my texts. How do I make it so she just receives normal text messages?
- How to decide between this year's Google Nexus phone or this year's iPhone? I currently have a Nexus 5 that is running Android 5.1 at the moment. I have never had an iPhone. My upgrade is early next year. Nexus phones and iPhones come with the latest versions of their respective OS's. Google I/O 2015 will clear some details for the Nexus phone(s). WWDC will probably do the same for the next iPhone(s).
