IPhone 4 logic board replacement? - 1

I have an iPhone 4 and was wondering if I can use the logic board out of the iPod 4th gen to replace the one in the iPhone?!

And what will you achieve by doing this? You imagine that suddenly your iPod logic board will start working like a Franken-iPhone / iPod?

If you do that you just turn your iPhone 4 into an iPod 4th gen.

The logic board IS the phone. It holds the IMEI and other essentials which make your iPhone a phone and it also holds the unique MAC code. Everything else is replaceable, and is only there to encase the board, give it a power supply, protection and the vital user interfaces.

If the logic board is unrepairable then the iPhone 4 no longer exists except as a spare parts donor.

  • Will changing the logic board on an iphone 5s take it out of recovery mode? My iphone 5s is stuck in recovery mode / DFU. Only get an apple symbol when put on charge which keep flickering on and off. When trying to restore via itunes i keep gettin code 4005 or 3014. Would replacing the logic board fix this? If so would i need to replace any other components at the same time? any other suggestions?
  • Where is the memory storage on an iPhone 4 logic board? If I take apart my iPhone 4 which part of the logic board would have the storage saved from old photos, apps, and text messages. There's a TON of old memories in my iPhone 4 and I'd really love to retrieve them.
  • Where can i buy a iphone 4 logic board? I need a new iphone 4 logic board, i can't afford to get a new iphone, so I was wondering if anybody knows where to get a new motherboard. I looked on ebay, but i'm not so trusting with the sellers on there. If anybody knows of a legit site that won't break the bank, I would really appreciate it.
  • What happens if you replace the logic board in an iphone 4s? I have a Verizon iphone 4s. The logic board is in perfect condition and so is the SIM card, but it is the outer components that are requiring me to get a new phone. I want to just replace the logic board and SIM card from the new phone with my old ones. Is this possible? And once I receive the new phone, can I just install my original logic board and SIM card or should I try to activate the phone first?
