Iphone 5 in washing machine?
My iPhone 5 was accidentally put in the washing machine for 1 hour (hot soapy water & a really harsh spin cycle), luckily it came out without a scratch, but it wouldn't turn on. And after sitting in rice overnight its still not working.
should i wait longer or just get a new phone?
If you have warranty get it to customer care or Buy a new one
Let it dry for a day before you turn it on otherwise you run the risk of short circuiting it
Leave it off. It's going to take way more than a day. Try days. If it doesn't power on then, buy a used one and move on. Best luck.
- What should I do with my iphone after it went through a 15 minute washing cycle? I don't know if this matters but my phone was cracked before it went through the wash and now it has a tiny chip in it. There was also detergent and fabric sofenter.

- My iphone 5 was in the washing machine It was in the pocket of a pair of sweatpants for about 5 minutes by the time i realized i had left it in there the water had just started to run. My phone was wet but there didn't seem to be too much damage. The music still played fine and i could hear people on calls. But then i noticed a screen discoloration in the bottom left corner! Is this bad? Do i need to go to the Apple Genius Bar or to the Verizon store? I'm soaking it in rice now and it is still in warranty.
- IPhone dongle went through washing machine? I accidentally left the dongle (lightning to aux adapter) in the pocket of a jacket that went through the washing machine. The cord s completely dry, so is there any harm in trying to plug it into the iPhone and an aux cord to see if it still works?
