Iphone will not restore or update?
I have an iphone 4 and when i try to restore/update it an error code comes up saying "this device is not eligible for the requested build" i have done research and supposedly that happens when you have jailbroken iphone. But the thing is my iphone is not jailbroken, although i did start downloading the software once but chickened out. So i never did have cydia on my phone and i thought it was normal, but apparently there must be jailbroken files on my phone i just can't see them. My phone looks and acts like a normal non-jailbroken iphone yet that error code still comes up. This is frustrating because i just got a new phone and can't restore my info onto it. How can i fix this?
Sorry you had to buy an Iphone, there's little hope take it into an apple store with a receipt, otherwise they will not help you
Back up all your info first then put your phone into DFU mode then connect to itunes and restore. It will probably ask you if you want to update. Then after you update set it up as a new device incase there are jailbreak files on it so they can go, then restore your phone from your back up
- When you restore an iphone from itunes backup does it restore messages? I need to restore my iPhone 4S in iTunes, will I lose my messages or will it leave the messages from my most recent back up?
- IPhone 4 update to 6.0.1 and restore has not restored my data? - 1 I'm on iPhone 4, was running iOS 5.1.1, Windows 7. Today I updated iTunes, and went to update my iPhone and restore to a backup I made 2 days ago. It seemed to restore fine and I selected the backup, but once it had finished and I went through the restore settings, all my contacts, photos, notes etc. Have all gone. I don't have any of these saved anywhere else and this is my only backup. What do I do?
- In the middle of an iPhone update and my iTunes won't recognise my phone in order to continue to update. Can I stop the update now? Neither the computer nor iTunes are recognising my phone and I've been working on his for an hour, I want to stop the update so I can go to bed, how can I do that? It's only at the stage where it has a symbol on the screen of the iPhone cable linking to iTunes
- If you disabled FindMyiPhone to restore your device, will the app be enabled again after the restore? A few weeks ago I upgraded to the iPhone SE and I restored the data from my iPhone 4s onto it. (I had to disable FindMyiPhone in the process). Little did I know that it would be lost/stolen 2 weeks later. Really need to know if FindMyiPhone would be enabled because I want to know if I still have any hope at all finding it. Thanks. I tried the app already… Says it's offline. Been waiting since.
