Is it weird to not like new technology?

Ok so I'm 16 and I hate the fact that everyone has iPhones. I have an iPhone too but I don't use it in social situations even if I feel awkward. I prefer talking to everyone but a lot of people prefer using their iPhones. I kind of wish I lived in a time without iPhones because it just seems like it would be more interesting. It's true that these devices allow us to have information at our fingertips, but it's taken over many peoples' lives. I wish I could have lived in the 60's, maybe even the 80s lol.

I grew up in the era of;

- NO computers
- NO cell phones
- NO Internet

- didn't even see an electronic calculator until I was in High School and those had to be provided by the schools because they were prohibitively expensive.

But we had snail mail and regular land lines and everyone WAS much happier.

It is not weird at all i sometimes hate new technology

  • Why do so many people go crazy for new gadgets and technology? Queue up for days just to be the first to get a new iPhone… Upgrading things when the old one works just fine… Why do people want the newest "in" thing so much? What's wrong with buying a phone and keeping it for 5 years until it breaks down and THEN replacing it?
  • This new technology came from the devil, don't you think? Iphones are clearly from the bowels of hell. Don't pretend you didn't notice. And that android guy… That's a scary little dude.
  • Is it weird I'm not into technology? I'm 19 years old and i'm not really that technologically savvy, I mean i don't have an iPhone because i only need to text and call people and i don't want all those apps and stuff so i just use a cheapo phone, i don't have a Facebook because i think it's a giant waste of time and if i wanna talk to someone i will use my mobile and i'm also pretty *** at using a computer, so am i the only teenager like this?
  • I'm 19 & i like to sociaIize with elderlys. I'm i weird? I find them a lot more interesting than people of my generation because they actually did stuff… Not like us becuz we always use iPhones. I find their stories very interesting and can actually carry on conversations with them is that weird
