ANY mobile is going to have a fixed focal length lens, usually wide angle
Any P&S camera is going to have an optical zoom lens on it allowing you to be further away from things like sporting events and still get good shots

You are comparing a truck with small bicycle so camera have big sensor, better image stabilization, more focal length, and best in all if we compare it with costliest smartphone's camera. That is the reason people buy separate camera and spend so much money on it but some people want average quality of photo and don't want to carry big body (camera) compare to smartphone so they prefer smartphone or iphone.
if your looking very good camera but small size so it won't look awkward or embarrass in crowd i will suggest you to buy separate camera that is Sony RX100 IV and buy cheaper smartphone eg in Samsung or xiaomi they are also give similar quality what iphone is giving.
