If your iphone has Wi-Fi access to the internet then surely the laptop could access the same Wi-Fi with its own built in Wi-Fi card. If you actually mean your phone has internet access via 3/4G you can set up your iphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot and then either use Wi-Fi, USB or bluetooth tethering to give your laptop internet access
