My iPhone photos take up so much storage?

I have 475 photos and 10 videos (which are all less than 15 seconds except for one that's about a minute long) and my photos take up 3.6 GBs and my friend who has the exact same phone as I do has 1,700ish photos and 50ish videos and hers only takes up 2.4 GBs. I don't get it, why do hers take up less storage than mine when she has more pictures and videos?

Fantasies)?

Check your deleted photos folder and clear it out. Also, is photostream enabled? Check around all your photo albums just to make sure there isn't anything you haven't noticed.

  • Why does some of the photos that I take with my iPhone 6 so much bigger than the other photos? I didn't change any of the settings in my phone as I have been taking one photo after the other. I don't think it is a burst shot either because I do not hold the capture button for long. So I'm expecting all photos to be relatively the same. Some photos even reached 200MB! I'm puzzled atm…
  • Why do my pictures take up so much storage? I have a black iPhone 5s and it's capacity is 12.1 gigabytes. I also have bought 200 gigabytes for iCloud storage. I've had my iPhone 5s for almost a year now, and my storage has been acting up lately. I've deleted most of my pictures and I now only have 35 pictures and 2 videos. The weird part- it says that my photo library takes up 10.2 gigabytes! I can't download and other apps and the only other apps that I have are Clash of Clans, PlayBuzz and Wishbone. I have no songs.
  • Why do my photos on my iPhone 4s take up so much storage? I have 455 items on my camera roll. I have about 80 videos, none go over 2 minutes. The total storage used by my 455 items on my camera roll is 8.83 gb. How do I fix this problem?
  • What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
