Nikon d70? Is is a Good camera?

I found a "deal" is a nikon D70 with the 28-200 mm for sale $200 IIm not a professional photograph but I really love to take pics ( with my iphone) you know tress, the clouds, views after the snow, stuff like that so I found this camera nikon for sale do you think that worth it? I know it came out on 2005 so is old… Should I buy it or get something new.

Nikon d70 is a good camera. These have 6.1 Megapixels camera for high definition 3008x2000-pixel image for printing 11 x 14-inch photos. 30GB hard drive and view them on the high-quality 2.5 inch TFT color monitor. Also have EN-EL3 Li-ion Battery Pack.

It's a reasonable price for that camera and lens. The D70 was a good camera, it did very well for Nikon.

It is still a good camera, the issue with age is more to do with how long will it last after you buy it? If it has the battery/charger, then it's a decent deal. Even the 6mp D70 can out shoot any cell phone, no issue there.

D70 Is a good camera technically. But very outdated one. And the lens you mentioned is 28-200 which is film based lens. If it is 18-105 or 135 willbe a good lens. 28mm you won't get much wider for shooting. My suggestion is go for d40, d60 or d90. Which uses sd card and trouble free cameras.

It is a good camera, since it allows you to use much superior lenses and change settings you can't do with an iPhone.

But it is 8 years old. It's not just the specs that are out of date (6.1 Megapixels is more than good enough) but that it is probably wearing out mechanically, has the potential for problems with the electronics, and parts like batteries will be harder to come by.

You would be buying a used camera. Must be very careful. It may be a jewel, it may be trash. You need to try it before you buy it. Download the manual from Nikon and put it through all its paces before you hand over your hard earned cash.

It's an old camera but if you know exactly how to use a dSLR then you should do fine with it.

$200 is just about right but you might be able to lower it down just a little more. Test thoroughly before handing over your money.

Good luck in finding CF cards. They're getting rarer every moment.
