You mean the cord. Buy the braided cord. That seems to help.

When you charge leave the phone flat on the table. Don't bend the cord.

Wrap electrical tape where the cord and the USB meets. It seems like bending the cord at that area seems to break it.

I personally think Apple made it so that it's fragile so that you have to keep buying them. Apple doesn't make all that money by making things that don't break. It's a dirty secret that things are intentionally made to break after a while so that you have to keep buying them.

Be careful with them and don't wrap them too tight.

Just be sensible - don't drag the cables around or unplug by pulling the wire; always grip the plug body.

I've had iphones for at least seven years and I have not had a single cable or charger failure.

Only unplug it using the fat part of the cable, never jut pull on the wire to pull the plug.
Never allow the phone to hang from the charging cable.
Never wrap the changing cable around anything, including the phone, this will break or stretch the wires inside the cable over time. I have chargers that are well over 3 years old with daily use that have not broken.

Get a tethered one, instead of plastic

Simply be more careful.
